This version is very powerful and has an easy-to-clean lid. There are newer versions with liquid-tight lids (see below), however I find them to be harder to clean. This one offers a large 14-cup bowl, great for batch cooking. This is powered by "paddles", not electric buttons— think "old-school" food processors. Select Color on Amazon link above.
This version has a sealing lid that works well for pureeing soups and large batches of "liquidy" sauces or salsas. If you don't have a blender, this one can act as a 2 for 1 in some recipes. As noted about, the liquid seal on the lid is tricky to clean. This model also comes with a smaller bowl, which is great for making smaller batches of sauces, pestos and herb marinades. This is powered by electric buttons, and offers a more contemporary look. Select Color on Amazon link above.
I wanted to hate the Instant Pot, I really did. But I LOVE it. So much so that I bought a second one. And I use both of them side by side, everyday! For family batch cooking, I recommend the 8-QT, but if you're group is small or you generally don't double recipes, the 6-QT is great. Cooking for 1 is a breeze in the 3QT mini.
